The Governing Council of the Northwest University, Kano has appointed
Prof. Danjuma Maiwada as the acting Vice-Chancellor for the
institution.
The council has also approved the appointment of Raliya Aliyu Abubakar as the acting Registrar.
Hassan noted that both appointments which took effect from January 1st, 2015 will last three month.
The two appointments according to him are to fill the vacancies created due to the expiration of second term tenures of former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato Mohd Razali Agus and registrar, Alhaji Faruk Muhammad on December 31 pending when substantive officers will be appointed.
Hassan urged the university community to cooperate and support the new officers so as to be able to move the university forward in the brief stay in office.
