The authority of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) announced that
due to some operational exigencies, corps members will be mobilised in
only two batches this year: 2015 Batch ‘A’ and 2015 Batch ‘B’.![NYSC Postponed 2015 Mobilisation Exercise Due To Election](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_uXdKW4p2FFfcnlv9gOA8T9GjPa7449xV3zsKAt_Fv9AHaPbmIhtY7rcMWFwsSLCXS-V1TW4QbmuHIGtspqlviOO9FQPiSYrdeio4dLu1Ib0jegCxtn1RnUmABoAFmWcOZhZqzYLQ=s0-d)
Furthermore, the 2015 Batch ‘A’ Orientation Course has been re-scheduled from Tuesday, May 5, to Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
The Director of Press and Public Relations in NYSC, Mrs. Bose Aderibigbe, who gave out the information above said that some piece of the purposes behind the postponement is a direct result of the approaching general elections.
"You know our corps members are taking part in the election. February 21 is when elections will be rounding off and Batch A, that should pass out, will still be in services to proceed with the elections", she said.
The NYSC spokeswoman however denied that the action was due to fears that there could be a repeat of the 2011 post-election violence.
