The National Librarian, Mallam Habib Jato has revealed that the Federal
Government has increased the number of e-libraries in the country with
the establishment of 17 more e-libraries bringing the total number to
27.
He made this known during the 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary celebration of the National Library in Abuja.
He said the need was born out of the convenience involve in having e-libraries around for easy access to information for researchers, students and individual.
According to him, “having these libraries makes research work and reading convenient for all, because you can use your hand devices to access books via internet.”
He further stated that the success of the National Library in its 50 years existence has contributed to democracy, good governance, national development, and human rights and justice in the development of the country.
